Help and guide
Everything you need to know for your defence – in short.
Goal of the game
Your planet is protected by a shield. Enemies fly at it in endless waves – every hit costs shield. Build satellite towers on three orbits and survive as many waves as you can. When the shield drops to zero, the run is over.
Waves, energy and score
Every wave brings more and stronger enemies, and every fifth wave a boss. Between waves you get a few seconds of rest. Every kill gives energy (for building and upgrading) and points for the leaderboard.
Build, upgrade, sell
Tap or click a free build slot (hexagon) and pick a tower. Tap a built tower to upgrade it (three levels) or sell it – you get part of the energy back. The circles on the playfield show the range, the dashed one the range after upgrading.
The towers
- Laser from level 1
- Cheap and fast. Ideal against single targets and nimble enemies.
- Rocket from level 1
- Slow rockets that explode – hits groups and swarms.
- Frost field from level 3
- Slows every enemy in its field and damages them steadily. Works against armour too.
- Railgun from level 5
- Huge range and massive damage per shot – perfect against bosses and armoured cruisers.
The enemies
- Asteroids from wave 1
- Slow, tough and in large swarms.
- Alien ships from wave 3
- Fast and agile – they weave from side to side.
- Splitter asteroid from wave 6
- Bursts into three fast fragments when destroyed. Stop it far out.
- Drone swarm from wave 8
- Four nimble drones at once. Splash damage and frost clean up.
- Armoured cruiser from wave 11
- Heavy armour shrugs off weak hits. Railgun and frost crack it.
- Boss every 5 waves
- Every fifth wave: a mothership with massive armour.
Special waves and supply capsules
Some waves come with a special rule. It is announced at the start and shown in the wave line.
- Meteor shower
- Only asteroids, but many more of them.
- Solar storm
- Towers fire slower, kills give more energy.
- Nebula
- Shorter range, a little more energy.
- Golden wave
- Kills give much more energy.
Supply capsule: crosses the playfield. Shoot it down for bonus energy. It never harms the planet.
Level, stardust and upgrades
After every run you get experience and stardust – the further you get, the more. Higher levels unlock new towers. Spend stardust in the pause menu on permanent upgrades: stronger shield, more starting energy, more tower damage. Special feats unlock achievements with a one-time stardust reward – find them all in the pause menu under “Achievements”.
Leaderboard and nickname
Pick a nickname in your profile to appear on the leaderboard. There is a weekly ranking (resets on Monday) and an all-time ranking. The wave reached counts first, then the score. Results are checked on the server.

FAQ
Does the game cost anything?
No. Orbitwall is free, without ads and without sign-up.
My progress is gone – what now?
The account lives in your browser. If site data was cleared or you use a private tab, a new account starts. A recovery code brings an old account back.
Why was my result not counted?
The server checks every run for plausibility. Broken connections or very old runs cannot be counted.
Does it run on my phone?
Yes – in portrait and landscape, with touch, mouse or keyboard.
